Community Supply Link is committed to making CommunitySupplyLink.org usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation.
1.Our commitment
As a mission-driven organization connecting seniors, community members, nonprofits, and the businesses that support them, accessibility is directly relevant to who we serve. We aim to design and build the Site — and, in time, the Connect Platform — so that people with a wide range of abilities can navigate it, understand it, and act on it.
2.Standards we target
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our reference standard when building and reviewing this Site. This is a target we design toward, not a certification of full conformance.
3.Measures we've taken
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and heading structure throughout the Site;
- Visible keyboard focus states on links and buttons;
- Alt text on meaningful images, including the Community Supply Link branding graphic;
- Color combinations chosen for contrast against the Site's dark background;
- A responsive layout that supports zoom and works across screen sizes;
- Respect for the "reduce motion" operating-system setting, which disables non-essential animation;
- A mobile navigation menu with proper
aria-expandedandaria-controlsattributes.
4.Known limitations
The embedded GoFundMe fundraiser widget is a third-party iframe outside our direct control; its accessibility depends on GoFundMe's own implementation. As with any site under active development, some areas may not yet fully meet our accessibility target. We welcome reports of specific issues so we can prioritize fixes.
5.Third-party content
This Accessibility Statement covers content we control on CommunitySupplyLink.org. It does not cover the accessibility of third-party services we link to or embed, such as the GoFundMe donation platform, which maintains its own accessibility practices.
6.Feedback & accommodation requests
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this Site, please tell us the page, the feature involved, and the assistive technology or browser you were using, by emailing hello@communitysupplylink.org. We will review reasonable requests and work to address them in light of available time and resources.
7.Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. As Community Supply Link launches donor, partner, volunteer, and transportation-request forms, and later the Connect Platform, we will apply the same WCAG 2.1 AA target to those new features and update this statement accordingly.
